Short-term finance to renovate or fit out your premises
A shop refit, restaurant refresh or office refurbishment usually has to be paid for before it earns anything back. A one-off short-term loan from Credit Corp funds the work now, so you are not trading from tired premises while you save up.

Why a refit is hard to fund from ordinary trading cashflow
A refit, refresh or fit-out is usually a lumpy, one-off cost — decorators, fixtures, signage or equipment — that arrives all at once rather than spread through the year like normal running costs. Delaying it can cost you trade (tired premises, an outdated look, equipment past its best), but the bill itself does not wait for a quiet month.
- Refit costs typically land in one lump sum, not spread across your normal monthly budget
- Trading may need to pause or reduce during the work itself, temporarily reducing income
- Delaying a much-needed refresh can cost custom to a newer-looking competitor
- Contractors and suppliers usually want paying on their schedule, not yours
How financing a refit works
- Size the loan to the refit costApply for a one-off short-term business loan matched to quoted contractor, fixture or equipment costs.
- Get the work done on schedulePay contractors and suppliers promptly to keep the project moving and minimise disruption to trading.
- Repay as trade normalisesClear the loan over a fixed short term as your premises reopen fully and trading returns to normal or improves.
- Settle early if trade recovers fastInterest is simple and non-compounding — a quick return to strong trading lets you clear the balance early and pay less.

Short-term borrowing is expensive relative to bank lending — only borrow when the cost is less than the gap it closes. Total cost is capped at 100% of the amount borrowed, so you will never repay more than double. Lending is to the company; there is no personal guarantee.
Planning the work itself
Where possible, schedule a refit for your naturally quietest trading period, and get a fixed-price quote rather than an open-ended estimate — unplanned scope creep is the most common reason a refit costs more, and takes longer, than expected.
- Time the work for your quietest trading period if your business has one
- Get a fixed-price quote with a clear scope, not an open-ended estimate
- Ask your landlord about any dilapidations or reinstatement obligations before starting
- Budget a contingency of 10–15% for unplanned costs discovered during the work
Who can apply
- UK limited company or LLP (we lend to the body corporate — not to sole traders or individuals).
- At least 6 months trading.
- A current UK business bank account.
- A director identity check (you act as the company's authorised representative, not as a personal borrower).
- No personal guarantee required — the obligation sits with the company.
Premises refit finance — questions
Can I get finance to refit a shop, restaurant or office?
Yes. A Credit Corp short-term business loan can fund a refit, refresh or fit-out for any eligible UK limited company or LLP, repaid over a fixed short term.
Does it matter if the premises has to close during the work?
No — eligibility is based on your company's trading history and banking data, not on whether you are mid-refit. Many businesses time a loan specifically around a planned closure period.
What does a refit loan cost?
Interest is 0.25% per day on the principal (simple, not compounding), plus a £5 one-off fee, capped at 100% of the amount borrowed. See the worked example above, or use the calculator for your own figure.
Can this fund a multi-site refit programme?
The loan itself covers £50 to £500 per advance (or up to £2,000 via Credicorp Slice) — for a rolling multi-site programme, several eligible companies or separate applications may be the right structure; see our guidance for multi-site and franchise businesses.
