The team behind what you read here
Every guide, explainer and data publication on this site carries a named byline. These are the people who write and edit that material — what they cover, and where to read their work.

Laura Beckett
Editorial Lead, Business FinanceLaura leads the Credit Corp editorial desk. She writes and commissions the plain-English explainers in the Newsroom and guides library — payments mechanics, cashflow planning and how short-term company borrowing actually works day to day. Her focus is copy a company director can act on: what a product costs, what it commits the company to, and where to get help if trading turns. Everything published under her byline is reviewed against Credit Corp's pricing configuration and the exempt business-lending framing before it goes live.

Owen Pritchard
Senior Writer, SME Cashflow & DataOwen covers the numbers side of small-company life: cashflow timing, VAT and payroll pinch points, Open Banking data and what lenders can (and cannot) read from a bank feed. He maintains Credit Corp's original-data publications, including the UK SME cashflow dataset, and writes the methodology notes that accompany them. His rule for every chart and table: label what the data is, label what it is not, and show the working.

Priya Nandra
Credit & Risk EditorPriya edits Credit Corp's credit and risk coverage: how decisioning works, what a CCJ or a thin file means for a company application, and the boundaries of automated decisions — including a director's right to ask for a human review. She translates underwriting practice into plain English without softening it, so a reader knows exactly what will be looked at and why an application can be declined.

How the desk works
Named bylines, not a house pseudonym
Articles are attributed to the person who wrote or edited them. Each byline links to a bio page listing that person's role, coverage area and published work, so you can judge whether they know the subject.
Checked against how we actually lend
Copy about costs, terms or decisioning is reviewed against our live pricing configuration and the exempt business-lending framing before it goes live. If an article says a product works a certain way, that is how the product works.
Figures come with working
Where we publish data, the methodology note is published with it — what the data is, what it is not, and how it was collected. Where a page shows a cost, it is a labelled illustrative example or a representative example, never an unsourced claim.
Corrections are made in the open
When we get something wrong we amend the page and update its dateModified rather than quietly replacing it. Spotted an error? Write to us and the desk will look at it.
