What a Legal Entity Identifier is
A Legal Entity Identifier is a 20-character alphanumeric code defined by ISO 17442 that uniquely identifies a legal entity in financial transactions. Every LEI record on the Global LEI Index is public, machine-readable and cross-checked against the entity’s official national register — for us, that is the UK Companies House record for company 17338274.
The system is run by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), a not-for-profit established at the request of the G20 and Financial Stability Board.
What our LEI covers
The LEI record publishes, in a common machine format, four things about the legal entity that were previously scattered across the UK company register and our own website: the legal identity (name, registered office, jurisdiction, legal form); the registration authority that stands behind it (Companies House, entity ID 17338274, Registration Authority list RA000585); the organisation that issued and maintains the LEI record (Ubisecure Oy, trading as RapidLEI); and a public annual renewal cadence — 3 August 2027 is the next.
Anyone can verify the record in a browser at search.gleif.org/#/record/98450000MF2ARDB2SE48, or via the GLEIF public API at api.gleif.org/api/v1/lei-records/98450000MF2ARDB2SE48.
Why it matters
Financial counterparties, regulators and reporting systems can identify us with a single globally-unique code. The LEI is used across MiFID II / EMIR reporting, central-bank statistical returns, KYC/AML file identifiers and payment message headers (ISO 20022).
Data platforms — Bloomberg, Refinitiv/LSEG, S&P Capital IQ, and the entity graphs that feed the major search engines and AI answer systems — consume GLEIF’s daily data feed. Anyone doing due diligence on us can pull a signed, dated, cross-checked record from GLEIF in seconds.
